CABINETRY GUIDES

Standard Kitchen Cabinet Sizes: A Reference Guide for Distributors

Use standard cabinet sizes as a starting reference, not as a substitute for approved project drawings. Dimensions differ by manufacturer and market, and distributors must distinguish cabinet-box dimensions from the finished cabinet configuration.

A North American reference example

The examples below are from KraftMaid’s published sizing guide. They are not a Tech Forest stock-size schedule or a mandatory international standard.

Reference item Published example Planning note
Base cabinet height 34½ in / 876.3 mm Cabinet height before the countertop assembly
Base cabinet depth 24 in / 609.6 mm Check how doors and projections are measured
Tall cabinet depths 12 or 24 in / 304.8 or 609.6 mm Manufacturer-specific options; verify the selected unit

What the distributor should confirm

Use one unit system throughout the drawing set or show conversions clearly. Confirm the Tech Forest dimensions and customization requirements directly before ordering; do not convert another manufacturer’s catalogue into an assumed supply commitment.

Frequently asked questions

Are cabinet sizes identical in every country?

No. Product ranges, building layouts and cabinetry specifications differ; use the relevant project and manufacturer references.

Does a base cabinet height include the countertop?

Check the stated measurement. The reference example above describes the cabinet before the countertop assembly.

Can I use my distributor’s cabinet codes?

Send the codes together with drawings and dimensions so the corresponding specification can be confirmed.
